WEEKEND: Stitching Catchup #1

Lighter spring nights has given me the perfect excuse to cram in an extra couple of hours stitching each day, even if I’m meant to be doing something else. So with this new blog and all, I thought I’d try and document the stitching I’ve been getting up to at the weekend and the plans for the forthcoming week.

Stitching revolved around two of my projects alongside stitching some name plate pieces because I’m amazingly bad at both not marking the date on something I’ve stitched and because of this, I never remember when I completed a project. But the main pieces I’ve been stitching have been adding the final couple of cars to my VW bug project and picking up and putting down the first couple of stitches for my attempt at stitching a version of our vintage 1970’s Sony record player.

I’m working from my own pattern pretty much drawn from the record player as is, a couple of changes here and there with some of the positioning of the buttons just for visual clarity although a big change is the colour, as much as I would love us to own a blue record player, it’s actually just the standard brown. As I type this I’ve been trying to work on the top of the machine – particularly placing in a vinyl on the turn table and having major issues with trying to stitch something that’s round and at a funny angle.

Fun times!

Just another couple of cars added in, I was actually only planning on stitching six cars but hey there’s space, might as well do some more!
